Being a first time mum or dad is hard. I know I’ve said that before and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but it really is.
I fully appreciate now what people said, that you really don’t get how hard being a parent is until you are one. What worries me is that I’m only just getting going on this whole parenting journey.
The thing about being a parent is learning to trust your instincts, your feelings etc.
I think when you have a firecracker baby it is even more difficult!

Another weekend gone and a new recipe tried.
I’d fallen behind a bit on making sure the freezer was stocked with food ready for Sidekicks culinary adventure so I’ve done a batch of cooking this weekend.
These bright orange fritters are pretty yummy even if I do say so myself.

What a week! Glad it’s over and we’re in a new one.
So Sidekick has been sick. This was the first time she’s been properly sick, temperature going up and down, trips to out of hours doctors, just not a lot of fun!
Then when we get out of that, I end up with a swollen eye, for no reason. Just all swollen shut.
It’s really hard to keep up with Sidekick when only one eye is working!

Sidekick loves crawling but she’s now working on walking.
I’ve read a lot that high demand babies, Velcro babies have a lot of energy, they demand to move, to be free.
That is totally true with Sidekick.
Whilst this is great news for the future it’s not so great in terms of going anywhere.

Do you ever feel that you just aren’t enough.
That no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, it just doesn’t seem to be good enough.
I can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel at the moment.
